Marli's Blog: My Dream to Work in the Allied Health & Disability Space 🏥💙

Wednesday, October 16, 2024

Hi, I’m Marli, and I want to share a bit about what I hope to do in the future. My dream is to work in the allied health and disability space, just like my mum 👩‍👧, and role model. Watching her work has shown me how much of a difference you can make in people’s lives ✨, and it’s inspired me to follow in her footsteps.

My Awesome Allied Health Supports 👩‍⚕️

I’m super lucky 🍀 to have an amazing team of allied health supports since my stroke. My exercise physio named Nguyen, who works at Physio Inq, Taylor at AHP and Laura from Healthproof, just to name a few! I also do a lot with the Brain Injury Clinic at Westmead Children's Hospital. My allied health team have been incredibly supportive and have helped me a lot throughout my recovery ❤️‍🩹. With their help, I’ve realized how powerful physio and other supports can be—not just for healing, but for building confidence too 💪.

Why I Want to Work in This Space 😊

Because of my own experiences and seeing my mum work in allied health and disability support 💙, I feel really connected to this field. Being around these spaces all the time has taught me how important it is to be there for others 🤗, especially when they need extra help. I know this is what I want to do when I grow up—help people, support them through challenges, and be a part of their journey. 🌟

Thanks for reading,

Marli 🌈
